These are becoming common street furniture in cities worldwide as an antidote to traffic, pollution and obesity. Next year Boston and London will roll out public-use bikes; Paris and Barcelona both embraced similar programs in the last two years.”

-
100 Things to Watch in 2010 (and the 40 That Might Matter to Your Business) : Marketing :: American Express OPEN Forum

Great to have things that relate to more usage of bicycles included in this list of 100, all of which seem to relate to a better, cleaner earth for the generations yet to come, for a chance to see 2076, and an antidote to the false idea of the world ending anytime soon.

As people are beginning to relize it is completely in their hands to make a difference, to improve their own situation and to improve the world we live in now so that there are many generations yet to come who will have a chance to experience it.

"Networks of charging and battery-switching stations—where drivers can quickly replace dead..."

“Networks of charging and battery-switching stations—where drivers can quickly replace dead batteries—are sprouting in countries such as Denmark and Israel that are moving toward mass adoption of electric cars.
Great Information on stepping up to Mass Adoption of Electric Car Networks, how to step things up to build on a better future while helping the world improve as an overall step in the right direction. Environmentally Friendly and Important as we the bicyclists are also very much in the loop in helping save the planet by decreasing carbon emission by riding the bike a few more times a week.

Re: I Pay Road Tax jersey poll

Avidcyclist Ray Says; This is a great direction to go with things, quite effective at getting an idea from the bicyclists of the world today, to make a difference in getting the word out and uniting in a new direction. This article tells the story, of one day’s ride and the weekend to come and the rides it will entail. To start the day, I begin to ride to the workplace, to catch a ride from there into Carmel By The Sea, as there was only an hour between the time I arrived and the time I was supposed to be there. Had I started earlier, or known earlier about the position, I would of rode my bike round trip, but was only made aware of the need right around 8a this morning. So had to eat quick jump on my 21″ Giant Rincon and cruise on over to the office. I made good time actually, was about 5 minutes early when I arrived so gave me time to cool down a bit and get some extra water then load the bike up on the car with it’s rack on the top. It was one of those racks I see every now and again, had a center restraint and the front and back on ratcheted straps, which increased my confidence as it seemed to be a well built rack. I will have to find out the company that makes it and add that to this post later.”

-
Bicycling Through Life – Lessons Learned

What can be eaten for an entire ride, to burn for a day over 60 miles or more, something as simple as Bread and Peanut Butter, to burn on a ride from Carmel By The Sea California to Salinas California, it worked well enough to enjoy it.

Twitter / Gabriel Del Rossi: A Cold Ride.

Twitter / Gabriel Del Rossi: A Cold Ride.:
A Cold Ride ~ But a Good Article

"I’m not suggesting you give up everything. I don’t believe we should be miserable in order to save money for a trip, just like I don’t believe we should be miserable now in order to save money for retirement. What I am saying is to simply make conscious decisions. Think about each and every item you spend money on and make a conscious decision – is this item higher on the priority list than my trip?”

-
How to Afford an Extended Vacation | Washington Times Communities

Looking back my bike was not truly secure as was assumed. A simple lock and chain less then the recommended thickness in a location expected to be secure and the bike not all that expensive though modified to my preference. It only took a moment … the camera I expected to be watching the bike … is blocked by a service vehicle and as I watched the tape moments only out walks the thief and my bike.
